Recently, the earthwork package of the Nigeria Kano-Maradi Railway project entered the final stage of phased handover and closeout, with full completion expected within this month.
The northern main line of the Kano-Maradi Railway connects Kano in Nigeria with Maradi in southern Niger, with a total length of approximately 285 kilometers. The section undertaken by Zhongcheng is 22 kilometers long, with subgrade earthwork as the main construction scope.
After completion, the project will greatly ease logistics pressure for landlocked Niger in the transportation of energy, minerals and daily supplies. It also carries significant importance for promoting regional trade and the development of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
