Cambodia Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway Opens to Traffic

The Cambodia Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway, in which Zhongcheng participated, recently opened to traffic along its full route. With a total length of approximately 187.05 kilometers, the expressway officially began construction on June 18, 2019.

The expressway connects Cambodia’s capital city Phnom Penh with Sihanoukville, the country’s largest port city, crossing five provinces and including eight toll stations, three service areas and one parking area.

During construction, Zhongcheng faced many challenges, including the continuing impact of COVID-19, difficulties in mobilizing personnel and materials overseas, complex land acquisition and demolition work, an extended rainy season, and a complicated surrounding social environment.

The company formulated and implemented targeted plans, fully mobilized regional resources, strictly followed key milestone schedules, and completed the overall objectives on time, earning multiple commendations from the client.
